She is the first Latina who became chief White House correspondent of ABC Network. She joined ABC in 2011.

Before taking on a role at White House, she worked as an anchor of ABC World News Tonight. It is the flagship daily evening television news program of ABC News.

Talking about her educational background, she attended Salesian High School in Richmond, California, in 1995. Then, she joined the American University School of Communication in 1999.

Then, she started her professional career as a writer in San Francisco Chronicle. Afterward, she worked as a reporter at KGO-TV, an ABC network affiliate station in San Francisco.

After spending three years at the station, she joined ABC News in 2011. She started as a correspondent based in Los Angeles.

During her tenure, she traveled around the world, covering international stories. The journalist has covered the events such as The Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster, the selection of a new Pope, the Olympics, and more.

She was named anchor of ABC News’s World News Tonight Saturday in 2015. Then, in 2017, she became senior White House correspondent.

During that time, Donald Trump was the president of the United States. Now, she is continuing with her role during the Biden Administration.
