Howard was born on May 15, 1970, in Cleveland, Ohio, to his parents, JD Howard (father) and Hattie Howard (mother).
His father, JD, was a formal semi-pro basketball player who has toured with Jolly Jokers. Later, he used to work at a tool and die plant. Likewise, Desmond’s mother, Hattie, used to work as an administrator in a school.
Desmond has one brother, Jermaine, with whom he grew up.
The former NFL player went to St. Joseph High School in Cleveland and played for the school’s basketball and football teams.
